Through the lens of society, I am but a reflection,
Seen through broken mirrors, a distorted projection,
The cracks and lines create a false image of me,
And I believed their words, thinking that’s all I could be,

But one day I stumbled upon a stream of water,
And there, I saw a reflection clearer than ever,
No cracks, no lines, just a true image of myself,
A beauty untainted by the broken mirrors on the shelf,

It was a moment of realization, a change in perception,
I no longer held onto society’s flawed reflection,
It’s time to shake off the distortions, the lies,
And embrace the truth seen in the clear water’s eyes,

Here I stand now, free from the broken mirrors’ hold,
Embracing the beauty shown within, confident and bold,
No longer defined by society’s skewed view,
I am me, unapologetically new and true.
